Im talking twilight zone shows I saw as a kid combined with fantasyland dreams like you cant imagine all filled this huge warehouse that seems to be a major attraction in Santa Fe. Meow Wolf Museum In Santa Fe Nm With A KidÄuring our trip in 2018 to the International Albuquerque Balloon festival, me and Laila took a day trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico with my godmother to visit this super cool interactive art collective called Meow Wolf. It must be hard to get speedy appliance repair when the service person is teleporting in from the Andromeda Galaxy. I made it through the alternate dimension gateway in the fireplace and refrigerator but the dishwasher portal was apparently on the fritz. I felt I needed another several hours just to fully explore the Eternal multiverse or at the very least to find an exit. The $29 ticket gives access for the day, but I only had about two hours in my schedule. One room leads to the next installation and each seems to lead into another world or alternative universe: pastel caves filled with alien mammoth, mushroom treehouses a mirrored infinity spa, those stunning neon forests, a manga graffiti office and lots of alien alleyways and bazaars. The house is filled with secret, and occasionally blatant entrances, to other art spaces or, going with the story, other dimensions. ![]() I felt that foreboding even before a fellow explorer opened the refrigerator, stepped in and disappeared. Even cursory glances at the family flotsam across the front rooms an orange portrait of a faceless head, an aquarium filled with glowing coral but no fish, a worried note from a child about grandpas machine lead to vague dread that something is wrong. There is a complete house with things hidden in drawers and cabinets of each room! You just need to go and see what it's all about! Never stop exploring! I'm 70 and had a great time! - as did the 8 year old in our party! Oh and there's a children's activity area when you exit for painting and playing and there is an artist's lab where, under mentorship artists are allowed to use complicated equipment like a 3D printer.Once inside the house, visitors and secret agents are free to snoop and rummage through the layers of Selig family history found in papers, photos, childrens toys and artwork throughout the house. There is a school bus crashed upside down into the ground that you can see from above and below. I've never taken acid, but would guess this is like an acid trip! Things to touch, walk-on, see, feel and watch that is mind blowing! Colors tones, shapes, small passage ways to crawl through places to sit and just look. We didn't know that and it really did spoil the experience, but next time I go, I'll be better prepared. Apparently there is some story line about a family and an alternate universe you must explore to locate the missing family. They offer a free bag check-do it because trust me your bag will get in the way as you duck and climb! They don't tell you a thing about it, only that there is only one way in and many ways to exit that are clearly marked. We went on a Sunday and the lot was full and there were 2 food trucks which weren't getting much action. Start with 3 huge metal sculptures outside. ![]() Like the other reviewers, we loved it! I can't explain it effectively, only try! An interactive art installation in a former bowling alley.
